(R)Evolution
(R)Evolution seeks to reinterpret the first kings depicted in the 11th-century Persian epic Shahnameh, exploring their symbolic detachment from nature. The work then transitions into a critique of patriarchal structures, drawing inspiration from anti-patriarchal (R)Evolutions rooted in Iran’s long history of women-led protests, as well as global movements like pro-choice advocacy and #MeToo. In this reimagining, the kings are shrouded in a black veil, symbolizing their censorship, while the queen remains untouched—a testament to resilience and the enduring strength of the feminine.
